Renata Verejanu, president WOTC

Being the first international NGO with general headquarters in Eastern Europe and participatory status with Council of Europe, the World Organization of Talented Children was and remains a proof of promoting Culture of Peace and Human Rights among children, teenagers and youth.
It is the only international NGO of children, ruled by the children from this area, that was founded as a proof of developing democracy in Eastern Europe countries, the expanding of relations between people, with the occasion of UN 50th Anniversary.
(Renata Verejanu, president-founder, is the only adult over a decade. It is like Mother Teresa for children from WOTC. Only she knows what efforts made to create an international forum as she dreamed of)…

During the project “Young Journalists Noncontaminated by the Totalitarianism”, Renata Verejanu has created in the former Soviet Union the first press agency independent, with NGO status, for children and youth: Young Journalists Agency “AMP-Internaţional” (1991).

In 1992 she creates an original publication – “Micul Print” (Little Prince) Magazine, as well with NGO status. First magazine for children, published by themselves, at Chisinau, has brought together in the editorial staff children from different countries. By their fruithful activity, these NGOs remain to be the first modern journalistic school of promoting the Child’s Rights.

In 1993, the children team known to the public opinion, launch the long-term project “Les Enfants de l”Europe Mesager de la Paix dans le Monde Entier”, project that is achieved every year by the International Festival Contest “Micul Prinţ”. The project has united during 12 years over 50000 (fifty thousands) active participants and over 100000 indirect participants (spectators) from Argentina and Peru, Egypt and Turkey….

As the project brought together youth from all the continents, since 2001 it’s being developed through a more ample program – World Forum of Talented Children
The Forum has received greeting messages from the Director General of UNESCO, Secretary General of Council of Europe and the president of Republic of Moldova, the residence country of WOTC. We and new generation of children, who become members of WOTC, sustain that they will make this intercultural dialogue as long as will exist, on Earth, talented children.
All these programs stood at the basis of creation of World Organization of Talented Children.

Is incredible that such important projects are made years in a row by a youth organization, without any international grant or local sponsor, which would equal the importance of the projects. (Names of participants and personalities, members of the International Jury at different editions, in Annex I).

Talented Children World Forum will become in short time the most original dialogue between cultures and people, who promotes the culture of peace and by which the children achieve the right to free expression, and, rarely in other places, is project of children-volunteers achieved for other children. The Forum will become a peace bridge of collaboration between East and West.

Also a dear project is the “Caravan of Culture of Peace and Non Violence” Manifest UNESCO. In the autumn of 2000 the First Caravan of Culture of Peace from East (Moldova) has started its journey to West, passing from capital to capital until it reached the Council of Europe (Strasbourg) and UNESCO (Paris), where the officials met the members. Each year at this Caravan rejoice new members from different countries.
At national level the Caravan traveled all over Moldova. Although is achieved only on volunteer work, the project has inspired many NGOs in the world to create “Caravans of Culture of Peace”.

With these last 2 projects WOTC is an actor in the UN / UNESCO program “Decade of Culture of Peace and Non Violence for the benefit of the children of the world”.

Since 1 June 1995, date of obtaining juridical personality, WOTC has launched new projects, although the ones launched previously. In the conditions when totalitarianism was still alive in this part of Europe, WOTC has developed promoting campaigns of awareness citizens and local power with Child’s Rights and Human Rights.
Worth mentioned projects:
“I have the right to become a personality”,
“Personalities of Civil Societies are saying NO! to violence!”,
“Child’s Rights – National Debates,
“Oficials’ aggresivity witvin NGO’s volunteers”,
“I have the right to Work, to Love, to Live” etc.

A success of the WOTC projects is the fact that in their activities were involved children from the frozen conflicts zones.

At the end of each project successfully developed, the volunteers from WOTC create new structures. Were created:
1995 – European Conference of Young Journalists,
1997 – Newspaper “Children of Europe”,
1995-1999 – New members, representatives and branches in other countries,
2000 – First UNESCO Club, First UN Clubs,
2000 – Moldavien Federation of UNESCO Clubs
2001 – First Clubs of Council of Europe,
2001 World Forum of Talented Children,
2001 – The Online project „I speak your language, You speak my language”,
2002 UNESCO’s Week in rural schools,
2003 – European Academy of Civil Society
etc.etc.etc.

The WOTC and FMACCU activities have the largest transparency possible, because they publish the “Micul Print”(Little Prince) Magazine, and since 1997 Newspaper Children of Europe “Copiii Europei”, made by the children from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. By these editions with a number (tiraje) over 108000 of copies, a very wide public could know the WOTC activities.
About the WOTC activity have wrote other publications from the residence countries, participating countries at WOTC projects or countries where WOTC has members and representatives.

The fruit of implementation the projects who promote the Culture of Peace and Human Rights is placed everywhere, on the web sites created not so professionally but with lot of efforts by the kids who work hard at these projects.
Not having financial sources for creating a professional website, but wishing that the result of their work to be seen by their mates from all over the continents, the children from WOTC have created tens of websites on Freeservers (see annex II, p.2.)

c. From year to year, the promoting projects of Culture of Peace, Human Rights, compose many participants and beneficiaries, from new countries.
Now, when during the Earth are countries with civil wars, ethnic and religious conflicts, the WOTC projects are extremely useful.
A significant example is the divine gesture of children from WOTC, who, being orphans, gather money and create the most beautiful color magazine, may be sometimes neglecting their health, but for the use of other children, in the name of peace and goodwill.
If we would analyze the tens of videotapes or CDs from the broadcasting of TV shows, thousands of pictures published between 1991 and 2006, is hard to believe that all these were achieved by a single international NGO, with general headquarters in a country as Moldova.

WOTC is distinguished through permanent activities and projects that last by 10 years, or may be more. WOTC remains a model for volunteers ever since first project till now, although the main team works day by day.

Most of World Organization of Talented Children projects inform public opinion from different countries into the problem of peace.
WOTC wasn’t accidentally involved in a project because it received a grant, but for promoting Culture of Peace among children, teenagers and youth.
With general headquarters far from UNESCO (Paris), from Council of Europe and European Union, or potential financers – the WOTC has achieved large projects and activities only on titanic volunteer work, over a decade.
WOTC is a roads-opener, launching important initiatives of local, national and international level, in the area of promoting culture of peace, dialogue between cultures and people, and informing the Human Rights.

If we should believe in the article.3.3, where they say that the candidates won’t be discriminated neither by the age criteria, then the Children board of the WOTC and the president-founder worth fully the Prize UNESCO education for culture.

We would like to attach a few words for attract the attention of the, let’s hope, competent jury, onto this NGO, unique in his way:

- The children who created this NGO network, who direct these NGOs, who launch so original projects, succesfully implemented – are, most of them children whom mothers are gone in foreign countries searching for work, are orphans who maybe never were ar seaside of mountain to rest, are children tortured by the transition from totalitarianism to democracy, are not paid children for their work of active volunteers over 10 -15 years…
-And then you should ask: where in their sould so much wish to work, to promote peace and goodwill, truth and justice, beauty and respect to human being?…
